My Initial Opinion of FIFA...

I spent over a thousand pounds on a new computer last week to play FIFA on as mine had become outdated. My new machine is more than compatible with FIFA specs and all the drivers have been updated.
Yesterday whilst playing and completing a match in be a pro as a central defender, the game closed down to the desktop and turned the cursor into a weird shape. I must also add that this is the first time i have bought a FIFA title for 12 years and i can safely say that my opinion of FIFA, after playing 2011 has not changed. In fact my opinion has gotten worse.
One major fail is the fact that EA seem to discriminate against PC users by giving us a substandard product in comparison to our console counterparts. I walked 8 miles from the country to the city to purchase as public transport here is diabolical and paying for a ride on the back of a sheep is very costly too. The attraction being getting to be a goalkeeper. There was speculation that the keeper mode WAS on the pc version and thus i purchased on that premise and got stung in the bum. Imagine the horror when i discovered it wasn't. Now i gave the game a chance. And settled for my other preferred position as a central defender. Imagine the horror when the "manager" tells his centre half to score three goals in one match? Would Vidic be told by Alex Ferguson that he must score three goals in a match, get an 8 rating and the team must win by three goals? Not a chance. So upon playing reasonably well in matches, getting the ratings but not getting the three goals, i get dropped from the first team! How many defenders would be told to score three, play well but get dropped for not scoring three goals? Madness.
I'm afraid, unless there is some sort of "fix" in the not too distant future, my future will lie with PES in which i have purchased for 12 years and had only a few issues with. EA have messed up big style in my opinion. I mean fusing parts of 2010 with the World Cup game for pc users is a major major fail and a huge kick in the nads for the consumer - people that EA rely on - the consumer! With EA being one of the biggest companies in gaming, this has done the reputation a lot of harm.
I will indeed give EA or whoever ample time to correct the flaws and i hope they can prove me wrong but at the moment i am bitterly disappointed at a game that isn't even half of what the console version is, yet i have still had to fork out full price for what is effectively last years game! Being a family man, working class and with children, parting with the pittance i earn over the course of a year to facilitate a substandard product is nothing short of deception on EA's part. The advertising for the product leaves a lot to be desired. I hope this proves to be constructive criticism and that some sort of "fix" is put into place and i doubt i am the only one with this opinion.|||Jesus dude, Do you kno what Paragraphs are?
And the game shutting down and screwing with your curser is your GPU / CPU / Hardware problems, Probably something faulty, You may need to return it for other goods..
Didn't bother reading the rest, far too hard when it's just 1 massive block, Sorry.|||Paragraph? Never heard of it. :)|||lol what did he say, my 1st i impressions,
after being a pes fan for many years, is that this is the best footy game since pes 6, no lag on line,
i have a crappy duo core 2.4, 3 gig, and a 5770,p5n-32 and game runs fine on top settings.
only thing i would like, is some chat when plying 5v5 fun games, , and also a rematch option after it, shame i have to restart everytime.
|||lol, all you think that if u waste a lot of money in a great pc, your gonna play fifa without lags errors etc.
The problem can be from game, true...but the problem can be from your pc too.|||I'm more concerned about the PC user being sold a product that is not in line with the console version. The mere fact that i spent money on the computer is not the issue. I'm simply pointing out that the computer i purchased is new and up to date with drivers, hardware, software etc therefore the PC shouldn't be the problem and strangely there are many PC users having much the same problems thus, we can't all have incompetant machinery.
I expect bugs in any game. In fact i'm a devoted Football Manager consumer and of course they have bugs more often than not. The bugs in this instance - i have only encountered the one and that is the game closing down to desktop.
The fact that i point out that as a central defender i am requested to score three goals - i am pointing out there is a lack of realism in that area of the game, hence using Vidic and Ferguson as an example that Fergie would never ask Vidic to score three goals, neither would Paul Buckle ask a Torquay Utd defender to score three goals.
They are issues that need resolving but my main complaint is the PC user having what i percieve as a product that is made up of 2010 and the World Cup version rather than what the console version has to offer. The PC as a product still has as much to offer as the console.
