Can i play it?

Ok, well like many others i had performance issues on the FIFA 2011 demo's. Il admit, they was not game breaking and whether i played on Very Low, Low, Medium or High, the game would stutter at points, slow down, drop in frames etc. I never experienced problems with the replays or crashes.
My computer
Alienware M11X (R1)
Intel C2D U7300 1.7Ghz (mobile)
4096MB RAM
Windows 7 64-BIT Premium
nVidia GeForce GT 335M w/ 260.63 Beta drivers.
Ive tinkered and changed some settings but cant say it makes much difference, ive changed around "program priorities" in the task manager aswell as using D3DOverrider.
My main question is, has the game been optimized for the full version of FIFA 2011. Are there still the same amount of issues and "ingame laggyness" (offline mode), stuttering and chopping frames. If theese issues have been identified and fixed then i will gladly spare £25 for this beauty of a game.
Cheers,
Skidillydoo|||it should be fine...really, in the end it's really up to you and how much you want to play the game vs how much the game annoys you with the lagging..besides you're not the only one experiencing lag so i think it should be a safe bet some patch is going to be released for the game....remember it's a console port so the pc requirements would be quite high. Evidently nobody bothered to make it more pc friendly...|||Yes, but what im asking. Is my system good enough to play this game smoothly? Is the stuttering/laggyness due to an un-optimized demo version or my system?|||No you can't. Intel C2D U7300 1.7Ghz (mobile) does not pass the minimum system requirements for FIFA 11.
FIFA 11 requires a 1.8 GHz dual core at the very least. 1.7 GHz is slightly lower.
I've seen people experience stuttering/lagging with 1.8 GHz, so im not sure how you'll be able to play it smoothly with 1.7 GHz.:)
No matter how well the game is optimized. You simply can't run the game with a 1.7 GHz CPU Clock speed when the official system requirements state that you need a 1.8 GHz CPU.
Laptop versions of these specs may work but are not officially supported by EA.|||

Have you got a copy of Win XP installed? If so, try it under that - you'll probably have to install it there first. Under Win 7, I get lag - under XP, it's gone. :)
Edit: - Your CPU is a bit on the weak side. My advice is to try the demo under XP, if you have it and see how it runs - demo didn't lag under XP for me, no lag in the game either. If you can't do that, getting the game's a bit of a gamble. If you want to give it a go, get it from somewhere who will let you return it for refund/exchange. Last time I tried that, HMV were fine with it - give them a go, if you're from the UK. Confirm that they haven't since changed their returns policy first though.|||@Skidillydoo - Your CPU is slightly below min spec. If your game lagged I would expect it to go so mainly in high traffic situations and crosses (when the AI really ramps up). It's possible that you may be able to play lag free. The demo is a good gauge.
What I would recommend is this. Check the Dell website for a bios update for your laptop. Why I say that is Ian Jarvis has an Alienware M15X (some of you spotted that). He had a problem with his laptop where the game would lag (and it certainly shouldn't). We searched the Dell forums for a solution and saw that several models of Alienware M__x machines experience laggy gameplay (in general). Dell issued a bios update for his laptop which we installed and the game has run very well ever since.
Give that a try and report back if it helps your particular situation (PM me as well... I'd be interested to know).
